As we can see clearly in the pictures above both these markers are Permanent Fabric Textile Markers used in Textile Mills and Dyeing Houses for the purpose of Dyeing, Hoisery, Bleaching. The difference however is in their packaging styles. While both tubes are made up of aluminium one the toothpaste type marker’s tube is collapsible and pump-type marker is non-collapsible making it better for usage.

The pump-tpye/rubber valve marker has a rubber bulb attached at the bottom which has to be pressed to push air which inturn leads to flow of ink from the tube. Its easier as you don’t have to press the tube again and again like we do in the toothpaste marker

The ink flow is much smoother in rubber valve markers compared to toothpaste style marker. Also the tip is made up of metal for rubber valve marker and toothpaste style marker has a plastic tip ( though both of them can get either of the tips attached according to customer needs).

It is observed that toothpaste markers leads to lot of wastage of ink almost amounting to 20%. While the ink in the Rubber Valve Marker is utilized fully. They also contain more ink compared to toothpaste marker.

However, there are still markets like India and China  that demand toothpaste marker as they are comparatively cheaper though they have so many downfalls compared to Rubber Valve Markers.
